Dutch topbrewer conquers the world
Life's too short for boring, middle of the road beers. Craft Brewery Kees! stands for tasty, fruity, hoppy flavours and strong dark ales, but there'll always be that 'twist' . That special 'something' that make his beers stand out.
Owner and brewer Kees Bubberman started his brewing career in 2007 at Emelisse, a small regional brewery in Kamperland, Zeeland. Within a couple of years Emelisse became a household name among craft breweries worldwide, thanks to the by British and American beer styles inspired ales, IPA's, strong porters, stouts that Kees Bubberman brewed. Never afraid of trying something new and relying on his experience as a restaurant chef he created more than 30 new beers, including an IPA with Earl Grey tea, barrel aged porters en stouts and strong porters and stouts with coffee. Kees was ahead of his time with experimental flavours like these.
In 2014 Kees Bubberman decided to start his own brewery in his hometown Middelburg. Thankful for the opportunities Emelisse gave him, he felt that it was time to go his own way. Brewery Kees! started in January 2015 and within a year his delicious IPA's, strong porters, Russian Imperial stouts and barrel aged barley wines, porters en stouts found their way in the (beer-)world.
Kees keeps on creating new beers and searching for new tastes, sometimes following and sometimes setting trends.
Session IPA is one of our best selling beers. The origins of session ales go back to the First World War, when there was a great need of light ales for the factory workers. Amber with strong hop flavors (Citra, Cascade, Mosaic) and this ale (3,5 %) has the full body and character of much stronger ales.
Another bestseller is our Pale Ale Citra, based on modern USA-styled pale ales. A refreshing, fruity pale ale (4,8%) , with the strong flavors of Citra hops.
Our popular Farmhouse IPA (6%) is more or less a 'marriage' between two popular beer styles: saison and IPA. Brewed with wheat malt and barley malt, fermented with a saison type yeast like the old Belgian and French saison beers (farmhouse ales), it's quite pale and refreshing. On the other hand, the rich, fruity hop flavours are typical for today's popular IPA's.
Double Rye IPA (8,5%) is a strong amber IPA with rye malt. The rye make this beer refreshing and spicy extra. We used Cascade, Citra and Simcoe hops of rich and strong hop flavors. Bitter, sweet and strong at the same time.
Our delicious Export Porter 1750 is based on the tradition of the famous Russian Imperial Stouts. Originally these beers were brewed with lots of alcohol, malts and hops to withstand the rough journey from Great Brittain to the Russian empire in the 1800's. Almost black, with strong rich flavours of coffee, chocolate and caramel, roasted malts, malt sugars, alcohol and hops (Fuggles, Sorachi Ace), this beer gets high ratings from beer lovers around the world.
Mosaïc Hop Explosion (5,5 %) is another IPA in our range. Another highly rated beer which pairs a subtle sweet character with a rich, fruity hop aromas. Brewed with pale and cara malts it's dominant flavor is Mosaïc® hop.
West Coast IPA is one of 2017's new creations. A strong (7,2%) amber IPA with even stronger tasts of Citra, Simcoe and Mosaïc® hops. This IPA is inspired by the new ale styles from the San Diego area.
American Barley Wine is one of Kees's strongest beers (11,5%). Originally, a British beer style it was further perfected by the new wave of craft brewers. Deep amber, rich and sweet but smooth at the same time, with more subtle flavors of Citra and Cascade hops.
Spring Blossom Pale Ale (6 %) is our spring ale, essentially an Indian Pale Ale with added blossoms. Amber, fruity, spicy and sweet, with the rich flavors of today's popular hops.
Pink Grapefruit IPA (5,5 %) is our summer beer, an very refreshing and fruity IPA, brewed with Pale Münchener and Cara Red malts and Cascade, Sorachi and Ace hops, but with our 'secret' ingredient: grapefruit pulp.
Indian Summer Doppelbock (8,5%). Not quite the traditional Dutch bock beer. Strong and full, brewed with pils, Münchener, cara and smoked malts and subtle flavors of Saaz and Kahatu hops.
Strawberryfields Forever (6%), a deep brown oatmeal stout with a surprising hint of sweet strawberry marmalade.
Caramel Fudge Stout (11,5%). Strong and sweet, coffee like dark, with the emphasis on roasted malts and caramel.
